Mitcham Girls High School

Week 1 Parent Update

30-Apr-21Principal's update from Week 1 of Term 2.

Dear Mitcham families,

Welcome back to Term 2, I hope you had a great holiday break. It’s been lovely to welcome back our students for an exciting Term.

During the holiday break we were able to facilitate a Daymap upgrade. This has provided us with more functionality and enabled parents to use the Daymap App to access information about their child’s learning. An email with instructions on how to use the App will be sent out next week.

This upgrade also provided us the functionality to book Learning Conversations (Parent Teacher interviews) using Daymap.

Your log ins for Daymap have not changed, but you may need to update your bookmarks. is the new link, or you can login via our school webpage.

A number of our Year 12 teachers ran additional classes for their students during the break. We thank these teachers and students for their commitment to the learning.

Upcoming Events

Learning Conversations between parents/caregivers, teachers and students are scheduled for next Wednesday 5 May from 11.00am until 7.00pm. There are no scheduled lessons during the day, but we request that students attend Learning Conversations with one parent or caregiver.

Each Learning Conversation is scheduled for 10 minutes. We ask that teachers keep to this timeframe as much as possible. If you need a longer meeting or conversation, another time can be scheduled to revisit the important discussion of your child’s learning.

Please see attached guide for how to book an interview with your child’s teachers.

We have begun organising and preparing for the NAPLAN Online testing commencing Week 3, Term 2. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the NAPLAN, please contact your Year Level Manager – Romina Gagliardi, Year 7 or Liz Rogers, Year 9.
