Year 12 student Leela attends National Convention

26-May-22News regarding a student's attendance at the 27th National Schools Constitutional Convention.

Congratulations to Leela on her selection and participation in the 27th National Schools Constitutional Convention held 10-11 May 2022.

Leela was one of 12 delegates chosen to represent South Australia after her notable contribution at the 2021 South Australian Schools Constitutional Convention.

This year’s National convention was held at Parliament House in Adelaide as an online forum with successful candidates from other states and territories. While it was disappointing the convention was unable to be held in Canberra as planned, it was a valuable learning experience as the South Australian team contributed to discussion and debate on ‘Does Australia need a Bill of Rights?’.

This is a huge honour and proud moment for Leela and for Mitcham Girls High School.
