Mitcham Girls High School

Week 10 Parent Update

05-Jul-21Principal Linda Richardson gives a final update for Term 2.

Dear Parents/Caregivers

As we come to the end of Term 2, it is pleasing to report that there have been many successes both in the classroom and through extra curricula activities. Students have had excellent achievements in the Interschool Debating competition, sporting events as well as producing some outstanding performances in drama, music and dance.

End of Semester 1 Reports

Student reports have now been uploaded onto Daymap. Instrumental Music reports can also be located here. I encourage you to take the time to sit down with your daughter to discuss their strengths and areas for continued improvement. If you would like further clarification on any of the information provided, please feel free to contact the subject teacher.

Changes to ICT Helpdesk

The MGHS ICT team is transitioning to a new service model and IPAU is no longer part of that framework. We are in the process of evaluating and constructing an alternative ticket system or Helpdesk portal for you to lodge ICT jobs.

For now, we ask you to cease using the IPAU ticket system and to send requests directly to us by email. Please use dl.0903.info@schools.sa.edu.au to request our assistance. We appreciate those parents who have taken care in the past, by providing detailed descriptions and screenshots of issues; this does help a great deal in formulating our response.

Mobile Phone Policy

The Mobile Phone Policy has now been ratified by Governing Council and can be accessed via our website. This will be reviewed again next year.

2022 Curriculum Guide

The 2022 MGHS Curriculum Guide is now available for viewing on our website. Hard copies will be available for student access at the beginning of Term 3.

Year 12 Holiday Classes

During the holidays there are several Year 12 classes being held on behalf of families; I would like to thank our staff for providing these sessions so that students are able to obtain additional help in the lead up to final assessments.

As we face challenging times regarding COVID-19, families are encourage to keep abreast of news via the Department for Education website. We will also continue to communicate any important information via email as it comes to hand from DfE and SA Health.

Regards

Linda Richardson
and the Senior Leadership Team
