Year 9 HASS includes one semester of Geography and one semester of History.
History:
Students explore the making of the modern world from 1750 to 1918, focusing on the Industrial Revolution, colonisation, and significant global events like World War I. They examine the impact of these events on societies and the development of ideas such as democracy and nationalism.
Geography:
Students study biomes and food security, analysing the distribution and productivity of biomes around the world, and the challenges of sustainable food production. They also investigate geographies of interconnections, examining how people, places, and environments are interconnected through trade, technology, and cultural exchange.
